Congratulations are in order for Frank Grimberg, who’s novel project 3LandSpiel was approved for funding by the Steering Committee of the Interreg Upper Rhine on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The project has a total budget of €740,800.00, with the funding phase running through 31 December 2027.

3LandSpiel An intercultural board game to promote exchange between young people from the tri-border region

What is 3LandSpiel?

3LandSpiel is an innovative board game designed to playfully raise awareness among young people, students, museum visitors, and others – about the unique characteristics, challenges, and opportunities of the tri-border region. The game is based on a fixed set of game materials and scenarios that reflect key aspects of life such as mobility, sustainability, language, culture, and education. An AI-powered game line generator allows the game to be continuously expanded with new, current topics and questions.

Following a successful pilot phase, the game will be introduced in the region and integrated into the permanent exhibition of the Dreiländermuseum Lörrach. A 3LandSpiel online community and a dissemination working group will be established to facilitate exchange, further development, and distribution.
