Kick-off into the Study Year 2025/26 at the Competence Center Digital Trust

In September, the Competence Center Digital Trust launched the new study year 2025/26 with a team meeting. Together, we mapped our activities in research, teaching, and further education – and set clear priorities for the months ahead.
Education: Specialization “Digital Trust” ready for launch
A major milestone is the upcoming specialization Digital Trust in the Bachelor programs Business Information Technology and Wirtschaftsinformatik. The concept is developed, and we are looking forward to attract student’s interest in the upcoming years. In parallel, we have prepared new modules on cutting-edge topics such as Cybersecurity in AI, The Trust Factor in AI, and Quantum Disruption.
Continuing education: Growth ahead
In continuing education, we are aiming for measurable growth this year, expanding our portfolio with formats that respond directly to the demand for skills in cybersecurity, data protection, and digital trust.
Research: Building on proven strengths
Our research activities are anchored in submitted proposals and new projects in preparation. This year, we also aim to launch at least two PhD projects with junior researchers. Our proven strengths guide us:
- Exploiting intersections of Cybersecurity and Digital Trust – for instance in healthcare, operational technology, or artificial intelligence.
- Building diverse consortia – with African universities, in the Triregio (Germany, France, Switzerland), and with public bodies.
- Designing interactive formats to raise awareness – including serious games and community-building activities in cybersecurity and data protection.
Outlook
With this strong foundation, the Competence Center Digital Trust enters the study year 2025/26 with a clear profile: at the intersection of Trust, Cyber, and Education.
