Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Barbara Eisenbart of the Competence Center Digital Trust, who’s co-authored article on open data spaces was recently published in Netzwoche Online.

The article, entitled “Navvi-Path: Wenn der Athlet zum Mittelpunkt des Datenraums wird“, presents Navvi-Path, a use case that puts athletes at the center of their own data ecosystem by connecting information from training, medical, psychological, and administrative sources into a unified view without replacing existing systems. Athletes retain control over who can access their data through role-based permissions, enabling better collaboration while protecting privacy and avoiding fragmented or duplicated information.

The article also explains that this approach is built on the principles of data spaces, where data remains distributed but is shared securely under clear governance. The Gaia-X Trust Framework provides the digital trust infrastructure through identities, credentials, and compliance mechanisms that makes secure, privacy-preserving, and scalable data sharing possible, allowing athletes and stakeholders to collaborate with confidence.
