Swiss Digital Leadership Forum 2025

On October 28th, the Competence Center Digital Trust, together with our partners from Swiss-African Cybersecurity Community, participated in the Swiss Digital Leadership Forum 2025 – Strengthening Digital Leadership (DLF), organized by the FHNW School of Business in cooperation with Advatera. The one-day event brought together an interdisciplinary group of 270 industry experts and academics to exchange insights and experiences on the influence of artificial intelligence on digital business transformation.

Contribution

Our colleagues participated in a round table discussion on the topic of “AI Bias: What Systemic Biases Can Arise in AI Systems?” and explored the Eight Categories of AI Bias as defined by Santos et al. (2024):

  • 🧠 Cognitive Bias – Perception and Decision Biases of Developers
  • 🎨 Design bias – subjective design decisions that exclude certain user groups
  • 📜 Historical Bias – Adoption of Historical Inequalities in Data
  • ⚙️ Model Bias – Biases by Assumptions in Algorithms
  • 🧩 Requirements bias – one-sided or incomplete requirements collection
  • 🌍 Societal Bias – Reproduction of Social Power Structures
  • 🧪 Testing bias – insufficiently diverse test data
  • 📊 Training bias – unbalanced or incomplete training data
