Blockchain Course in Windhoek, Namibia

Prof Dr. Walter Dettling recently delivered a two week blockchain course in Windhoek, Namibia. The hybrid teaching format included 6 in-person and 4 online postgraduate students.
The course was structured as an intensive program comprising eight sessions of six hours each. It provided participants with a comprehensive foundation in blockchain technologies, covering both theoretical principles and applied perspectives. Compared to shorter elective formats, the extended duration allowed for deeper conceptual engagement and broader coverage of key topics within the field.
Following the instructional phase, students transitioned into an application-oriented component. This includes practical assignments using Bloxxgame to reinforce their understanding, as well as the completion of an online course and final assessment by the Cardano Academy.

University of Namibia’s Master of Science in Blockchain Technology
In 2026, The University of Namibia (UNAM), through its School of Science, launched a Master of Science in Blockchain Technology.
Through this program, students will gain both academic depth and hands-on experience to explore how blockchain can drive transparency, inclusion, and sustainable growth across different sectors.
We are pleased to note that two members of the Competence Center Digital Trust are contributors to this program: Prof Dr. Walter Dettling serves as a module instructor, and Prof. Dr. Bettina Schneider is a member of the program committee.
