Blockchain Research Seminar with NIT Warangal, UniFR, and FHNW – Visit of Distinguished Guest Researchers from NIT Warangal

Seminar on Smart Contracts and Blockchain Education, organized by the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Digital Trust Competence Center, and IEEE Blockchain Switzerland

On Wednesday, April 9 at 10:00, we welcomed two distinguished guest researchers from NIT Warangal, Prof. Dr. P. Radha Krishna and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangharatna Godboley for a Blockchain Research Seminar. The seminar brought together speakers from the National Institute of Technology (NIT Warangal), the University of Fribourg (UniFR), and University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHNW) to discuss developments in Smart Contracts, Blockchain Education, and Security. The hybrid event drew participants from across Europe, the Nordic countries, India, and beyond, highlighting international interest and collaboration potential.

In addition to the seminar, the visit included guest lectures by the NIT Warangal delegation: Prof. Dr. P. Radha Krishna and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangharatna Godboley in the “Cyber Security and Cyber Resilience” master’s course at FHNW Olten.

Dr. P. Radha Krishna and Dr. Sangharatna Godboley 

Prof. Dr. P. Radha Krishna and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangharatna Godboley are faculty at NIT Warangal, one of India’s leading National Institutes of Technology. Their research focuses on blockchain and e-contracts, smart contracts, software security, large language models (LLMs), databases, and related areas.

Prof. Dr. P. Radha Krishna holds two PhDs, has published extensively in high-ranking journals, authored several books, and holds over 20 patents. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangharatna Godboley has contributed significantly with dozens of publications, recently received the ACM CAPS Award, among others, and is the founder and chairman of NITMiner, a startup recognized by the Government of India. 

Their visit to FHNW continues a connection established during Dr. Felix Härer’s 2023 visit as a guest researcher at NIT Warangal and highlights the potential for ongoing international research collaborations. 

Guest Lectures 

The visit continued on Thursday with discussions on student projects and two guest lectures delivered by the guests of honour in the Cyber Security and Cyber Resilience course with master students at FHNW Olten.

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangharatna Godboley: Large Language Models for Security Testing. 

The lectures offered students insights into emerging areas of data, AI, and software security, featuring interactive participation and engagement throughout the session.

We thank all speakers for their valuable contributions and the lively discussions on smart contracts and blockchain education and extend special thanks to the guest researchers for sharing their expertise across seminar talks, lectures, and research discussions. Their visit reflects our shared commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing research in blockchain and smart contract technologies.
